The role of central department of technical control and laboratories:

  • Following up work as planned and amending variances if any.
  • Quality assurance of construction materials per international and Egyptian standards and codes.
  • Contracts are concluded with different bodies to design QC programs for major projects. A lab is installed at site to make tests and a team of work is formed to supervise the program and prepare a monthly compliance report.

Technical capabilities

The team of work consists of members having miscellaneous and integrated technical experience. Labs are equipped with several advanced devices of field tests for pavement materials in addition to advanced computers and printers attached with necessary programs for calculating lab test results in high accuracy.

Concrete and materials testing lab

The lab provides the following tests:

  • First: standard laboratory tests applied on construction materials

    • Concrete ingredients’ conformity to technical conditions.
    • Sampling and testing concrete while casting
    • Concrete sample test.
    • Defining concrete ingredients ratios that realize optimum compression strength required.
    • Testing of cylindrical concrete samples (cores) taken from existing buildings.
    • Testing of random samples taken from construction materials stacked at site and from instantly cast concrete.

  • Second: Field tests

    • Quality assurance of existing building by applying nondestructive tests at site.
    • Quality control of instantly cast concrete by applying standard tests.
    • Testing of cylindrical concrete samples (cores) taken from existing buildings.

  • Third: Technical check of the supervision work

Checking the conformity of executed work to technical and engineering standards and specs. Checking technical methods of stacking building materials at site. Preparation of standard concrete cubes at site. Random sampling of building materials for testing.  Conducting instantly cast concrete tests.
