Minister of Trade and Industry is scheduled to visit Greece by end of October 2018 to represent Egypt in the third session of the Arab European Summit to be held in Athens on October 29, 2018. Bilateral meetings shall be held between senior officials of the Greek Government and Chambers of Commerce and some Greek companies concerned in investment in Egypt. Coordination is being made with the Greek side to hold meetings of the Egyptian Greek business council forth session during the visit. The minister of Trade and Industry held a meeting with Greek ambassador in Cairo during which ways of enhancement of economic cooperation between the two countries are tackled. The meeting also discussed the potentiality of forming a business alliance between Egyptian and Greek companies to cooperate in mutual projects in third countries especially in the fields of construction, building, transportation, tourism, banking, chemical, medical and nutritional industries and furniture. Current trade exchange figures between the two countries does not account for the great potentialities the two countries enjoy. Egyptian exports to Greece has reached as much as $ 148 m. during the period January-August 2018, whereas Egyptian imports from Greece registered $ 173 m. during the same period.
